Pro removes the cap and adds power features for ₹99/month. Pro AI (₹299/month or ₹2,999/year) also unlocks the AI layer — the Financier money-coach chat, monthly Savings Coach reports, AI statement import and insights.

Does money actually move through Split Wisely?

No, never. Split Wisely is a ledger, not a wallet. When you settle over UPI we simply open your UPI app with your friend's ID and the amount pre-filled — the payment happens directly between the two of you.

What split modes are supported?

Equal, exact amounts, percentages, shares and adjustments — with multiple payers if several people paid. Every split reconciles to the exact total using largest-remainder rounding, and the server independently verifies the math on every expense.

Can I split with someone who doesn't have the app?

Yes — add them as a placeholder friend and split normally. When they eventually join through your invite link, their whole history attaches to their real account automatically.

How do group invites work?

Every group has a shareable invite link (and you have a personal one, plus a QR code). Links open the app if it's installed, or a landing page with store buttons if not. Group links can be revoked or given an expiry any time.

What is simplify debts?

In a busy group, A owes B, B owes C and C owes A. Simplify debts collapses the tangle into the fewest possible payments — mathematically guaranteed to need at most one fewer transfer than there are members.

Does it work offline?

What happens to statements I upload?

They're processed server-side, used only to extract your transactions, and the raw files are automatically deleted after processing. Password-protected PDFs are unlocked with the password you enter — it's remembered securely on your device only, never stored on our servers. The AI also cross-checks new statements against what you've already tracked, so the same payment appearing in two statements (say, a RuPay credit-card spend made through a UPI app) is flagged instead of counted twice. Extracted data belongs to your account and is never shared or used to train models. Details are in our Privacy Policy.

Is my financial data safe?

Data lives in Google Firebase (Mumbai region) behind per-user security rules — only people in an expense can see it. Balances are computed and verified server-side so a tampered client can't corrupt them. You can also lock the app behind Face ID / fingerprint.

Which sign-in methods are supported?

Google, Apple (on iOS), email/password and phone OTP. One person = one account: you can link the other methods later and sign in with whichever is convenient.

Can I use different currencies?

Yes. Every expense has its own currency and balances are kept per-currency, so nothing is ever silently converted. Pro shows display-level conversions to your home currency at daily rates.

How do reminders work?

From a friend's screen you can send a polite nudge about an outstanding balance — rate-limited to once a day per friend per direction, so nobody gets spammed.

How do I delete my account?

Account → Settings → Close account. It requires re-authentication, refuses politely while you have outstanding balances (settle first — it's only fair), then permanently deletes your profile, lookups and personal data.

The app tells you kindly, shows a countdown to midnight IST, and offers Pro. Nothing is lost — your expense is a tap away once the counter resets, or instantly with Pro.

How do refunds and cancellation work for Pro?

Subscriptions are billed by Google Play or the App Store, so cancellations and refunds follow their standard flows. Cancelling keeps Pro active until the end of the paid period; your data is untouched either way.

What is Financier, the AI money coach?

A Pro AI chat advisor built into the app. It knows your tracked spends, imported statements, splits and balances (friends stay anonymous to the AI), so you can ask things like "where can I save this month?" or "how much did food cost me?" and get answers with your real numbers. Conversations are saved, and you can add your income and goals to make its advice sharper. It gives general, India-aware guidance — it is not a SEBI-registered investment advisor.

How does the Gmail bill sync work? Is my mail safe?

Pro AI users can connect Gmail with a read-only permission. Each sync searches recent mail for bills, receipts and e-statements only, extracts the spends, and stages them for your review — nothing is added until you approve it. Every fetched email is listed in the app so you know exactly what was read, the access token is used for that one sync and never stored, and duplicates across Gmail, file imports and manual entries are caught automatically.

Do the AI features have usage limits?

Statement imports are capped at 10 per month. The Financier chat and Savings Coach reports come with a generous fair-use monthly allowance that refreshes on the 1st — normal use never hits it, and the app tells you kindly if you do.
